Jesus speaks here of the usage of money, which mirrors the truth within. Actually we do reflect our generous Father - who causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous (Matthew 5:45 ) - when we act on His word even in not too significant measure. Let the seed respond to the Great Sower, let the son and daughter at least acknowledge the fact that he or she is familiar with the character of our Maker.

Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. (Luke 6:36)

Mercy is the opposite of selfishness; mercy is not pity; mercy is divine; pity is human, mercy changes things, while pity just soothes but is not able to drastically alter things for better. Pity sounds like this: I'm so sorry, but there is nothing we can do for you, your illness is incurable. While mercy never gives up for it holds on to God in whom all things are possible for indeed He is unlimited in resources. By these two expressions one is being estimated or esteemed. An earthling who acts in pity limits his or her vision to something he or she knows while sons and daughters act upon the knowledge of being a son and daughter of the Most High God. Selfish pursuits do not restrict their vision because mercy would not permit them to. Altruistically, they tap into God's endless resources, act upon His mercy and often, miraculously, affect our lives.

Homes for orphans are the absolute necessity for not only must we provide an opportunity for people to act in mercy, but also an avenue of expression that taps into their truer self. Once the inner person manifests itself through a good deed the Creator will accept her and him as His own daughter and son.

So then, you will know them by their fruits. (Matthew 7:20)
